FFXI had shared servers for X360,PC and PS2 users so I dont understand why it wouldnt be allowed with the PS3.Its very possible that Square wants to spread this subscription based game across as many platforms for success,I really dont mind the more players the better the community.
Maybe if there were towns it wouldve been more memorable as a legit Final Fantasy and not a shit fest.
